SCBA COACHING

Coaching and instruction is provided thoughout the Staffordshire County Bowling Association area by qualified persons under the authority of the SCBA Head Coach:

Coaching is provided by various clubs with suitable facilities.

Complete beginners are most welcome and equipment is available to help avoid initial wasted expense on unsuitable woods, etc.

Facilities are also available for full-day sessions at members own clubs.

Video recording of delivery action can be played backl to the pupils allowing qualified remedial advice where appropriate.

Please note : minimum pupil numbers and a fee applies.

Courses are also held during the bowling close season.

BCGBA COACHING SCHEME

Coaching is recognised as an integral part of the game.

Since it's inauguration in 1994, many new bowlers have been introduced to the game with the assistance of the BCGBA Coaching Scheme.

The Staffordshire Country Bowling Association supports this scheme through the resources provided by the Development Fund.

The scheme provides coaching and instruction for all:

  • Complete beginners
  • New players at club level
  • Players with disabilities
  • Junior players
  • Junior County standard player development

Coaching and instruction is available at various clubs with suitable facilities.

Instruction is provided by qualified persons.

BECOMING A COACH

The BCGBA Coaching Scheme has a programme of structure training sessions to accomodate players wishing to become a qualified Coach.

This programme is achieved in two separate stages:

Stage 1 is to qualify as an Instructor.

This provides for the training of pupils using specially BCGBA produced manual with established syllabus and guidlines.

Stage 2 requires practical experience with training and assessment over a 2/3 year period.
